Putin: Russia’s GDP poised for 4% growth in ’24

Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to grow by 3.9 per cent to 4 per cent in 2024, marking an 8 per cent increase over two years, President Vladimir Putin announced on Thursday during his annual press conference.

Putin highlighted Russia’s economic achievements, noting the country now ranks as Europe’s largest economy and fourth globally by purchasing power parity, surpassing Germany last year and Japan in 2024.

Industrial growth reached 4.4 per cent, with the processing sector expanding by 8.1 per cent. Putin emphasised the need to sustain momentum and improve economic quality to adapt to global shifts and maintain competitiveness.
