QatarEnergy announced on Sunday its intention to build a world-scale urea production complex in Mesaieed Industrial City, doubling Qatar’s urea output from 6 million to 12.4 million tons annually.
This project, featuring three new ammonia production lines feeding into four urea production trains, is expected to solidify Qatar’s position as the world’s largest urea exporter by the end of the decade.
Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, emphasised the project’s role in enhancing global food security and optimising the country’s petrochemical infrastructure.
