Qatar’s non-energy private sector registered general stability in business conditions in the last month of 2023, according to the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) survey data from Qatar Financial Centre (QFC).
The report showed that the PMI for December was 49.8, a slight decline from November’s 51.5. While the annual PMI trend for 2023 stood at 52.4, mainly in line with the solid long-term average since 2017 of 52.3.
“Financial services continued to expand in December, and manufacturing also registered rising demand,” said QFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida.
The report also revealed that the demand for goods and services in Qatar’s non-energy economy was mostly stable in the final month of 2023, completing a year of solid overall growth on average.
