Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said that the US administration gave him 72 hours to “put an end to the revolution”, and assured, in his leaked memoirs that the Rose Al-Youssef newspaper is publishing, that he refused an Israeli proposal to leave Egypt.
“the ousted president has nightmares. It is like the blood of the martyrs is hunting him in his sleep.”
Mubarak also wrote that “I lost control over power during the revolution, and Minister of Interior Habib Al-Adly was the actual president of the country.”
The leaked memoirs also revealed that Mubarak’s son Alaa used to hate Al-Adly, and had constantly asked his mother “Suzanne” not to deal with him.
On another issue, Mubarak wrote that an Egyptian plane waited for him in Sharm Al-Sheikh to grant him asylum in “Tabuk base”, according to the Egyptian Daily.
He pointed out that Former Chief of Presidential Staff Zakaria Azmy and his son Jamal kicked out of the presidential palace Hussam Badrawi after the speech in which Mubarak’s step down was announced.
Mubarak also said that 90% of his ministers were corrupt, as he had appointed them only based on their level of loyalty and support to him, and indicated that he used to hate former US President George Bush because he had killed former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein for personal reasons.
