Queen Rania condemns west’s ‘silence’ over Israeli bombardment in Gaza

Queen Rania for Jordan on Wednesday condemned the west’s refusal to back a ceasefire, saying “the silence is deafening and, to many in our region, it makes the western world complicit through the cover that they give Israel”.

She further has accused the western leaders of a “glaring double standard” for not condemning Israel’s killing of Palestinian civilians, as Israel continues to shell the enclave in the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

“The people all around the Middle East, including in Jordan, we are just shocked and disappointed by the world’s reaction to this catastrophe that is unfolding,” Queen Rania told CNN. “I just want to remind the world that Palestinian mothers love their children just as much as any other mother in the world.”
