Rana El Kaliouby Egyptian scientist participates in NASDAQ
Egyptian Rana El Kaliouby was choosen by the NASDAQ Stock Exchange to participate in the ring bell announcement of the opening session.
El Kaliouby is the Co-founder and CEO of Scientific Research Department at Affectiva.
She developed programsto enhance the computers’ ability to recognize human emotions based on facial expressions and reactions.
El Kaliouby was also a founding member of an initiative dedicated to mental health research as well as autism patients.
In addition, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo (AUC),
as she was choosen in 2014 among the seven most influential women in the Entrepreneur magazine’s poll.
She graduated from the faculty of Computer Science from the AUC in 1998. She also has a master’s degree and a doctorate from Cambridge university.
