Raya Foods, 30 Egyptian firms to export 400k tonnes of strawberries

Raya Foods, a subsidiary of Raya Holding, has signed a deal with 30 companies to produce and export 40,000 tonnes of strawberries to foreign markets especially Europe, Japan and US, CEO of FMCG sector at Raya, Samer El-Waziri said.

The company is already exporting agricultural and food products to 10 countries, El-Waziri added on the sidelines of a conference held by the company.

The food industries firm is exporting 80% of its products and is aiming at achieving export sales of 250 million pounds during 2019 up from export sales amounting to $130 million a year earlier.

He added that the volume of Egyptian exports of strawberries reached about $ 74 million last year.

During a press conference today, Raya Foods signed an agreement with the Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) to finance farmers in Egypt.

Since its inception, Raya Foods has injected investments worth 400 million Egyptian pounds.
