Heavy rains have fallen over Egypt’s Red sea resort towns Saturday, causing the city’s council to announce a state of emergency in anticipation of more downpours, Al-Ahram Arabic news website said.
The council of the Red Sea governorate has also taken precautionary measures, putting more checkpoints and warning road signs, to assure safety on the main roads.
The area of Ahyaa Northern Hurghada, Gouna and the road linking Hurghada to Ghareb cities witnessed the heaviest showers.
