Remittances from Egyptians working abroad grew by 10.5 percent year-on-year in the first ten months of the financial year 2020/2021, central bank data showed on Thursday.
The remittances rose to around $25.8 billion in the July 2020 – April 2021 period from $23.4 billion of the same period last year.
A key source of foreign currency for Egypt, remittances also jumped 34.0 percent year-on-year in April, amounting to around $2.5 billion compared with $1.8 billion last year.
