Canada-based Research In Motion is considering the sale of its handset business, but would keep its enterprise services if such a deal went through, The Sunday Times has reported. Facebook and Amazon are two potential buyers for RIM’s handset business, the daily said, without citing sources.
However, a RIM representative told Cnet that the Blackberry maker “has hired advisers to help the company examine ways to leverage the BlackBerry platform through partnerships, licensing opportunities, and strategic business model alternatives.”
