Rival Constitution Protests In Cairo On Friday

Four opposition marches will converge on the presidential palace in Cairo on Friday to demand the cancellation of the constitutional referendum; Supporters of the president will hold a rally at the Rabaa Al-Adawiya mosque.

Egyptian opposition groups will participate in four marches against the draft constitution on Friday.

The marches will begin from Hadayek El-Qubba, Roxy, El-Hegaz and Mohandessin’s Mustafa Mahmoud mosque and head to the presidential palace. A demonstration is also expected to take place in Tahrir Square.

The marches have been organized to put pressure on President Mohamed Morsi to call off the constitutional referendum set for Saturday.

Egypt’s Islamist Coalition will hold rival protests at the Rabaa Al-Adawiya mosque in Cairo’s Madinet Nasr district on Friday in support of President Morsi’s “democratic legitimacy” and the draft constitution.
