Russia to represent Belarus in World Bank from Nov. 1 ’24

Russia will officially represent Belarus in the World Bank starting November 1, according to Roman Marshavin, Russia’s Executive Director at the bank, who confirmed the transition to TASS.

Belarus was previously represented by the Turkish-Belgian directorate but requested the change to Russia’s directorate, which has also represented Syria’s interests since 2014.

The shift reflects Belarus’s growing alignment with Russia on international platforms and adds to Russia’s responsibilities in representing allied nations within global institutions.
