Russia to shut its borders starting from March 30 to control coronavirus spread
Russia announced on Saturday it will shut its borders starting on March 30 in an attempt to control the spread of the coronavirus, Reuters reported.
According to a government order published on Saturday, the measure will come into force at all vehicle, rail, and pedestrian checkpoints,
It will also apply to Russia’s maritime borders, the government said.
However, the measure will not apply to Russian diplomats and the drivers of freight trucks, among others.
Russia has already grounded all international flights. To date, it has reported 1,264 coronavirus cases.
