Russian stock markets up on Thursday

Russian stock markets posted gains by midday on Thursday, with both major indexes rising significantly.

As of 15:48 Moscow time (12:48 PM GMT), the MOEX index advanced 2.86 per cent to reach 2,924.37 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS index also increased by 2.86 per cent, hitting 896.08 points.
