Russian stocks fall by midday
Russian stocks plummeted on Wednesday midday. The MOEX index dropped 1.72 per cent to 2,683.37 points by 14:00 Moscow time (11:00 GMT), while the RTS index also fell by 1.72 per cent to 924.04 points.
At the same time, the yuan strengthened against the rouble, rising to 11.7513 roubles from 11.6863 roubles at 10:15 Moscow time (11:15 GMT).
