Russian aircraft maker Irkut announced Monday it had signed a contract to supply six medium-range MC-21 airliners to Egypt’s Cairo Aviation with an option to sell additional four.
The contract was signed between Irkut, part of Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), and the Kato Investment holding company, Cairo Aviation’s parent firm, the Russian company said.
The catalogue price of one MC-21 airliner is around $85 million, UAC has previously said. The companies did not disclose finiancial details of the Egyptian contract.
