South Africa unemployment rate fell to 32.1 per cent in the third quarter of 2024, from 33.5 per cent in the previous quarter, according to a report published by Statistics South Africa on Tuesday.
In Q3 2024, the number of employed persons rose by 294,000 to 16.9 million, while the number of unemployed persons dropped by 373,000 to 8.0 million compared to Q2 2024. This led to a decrease of 79,000 in the labour force.
