S. Arabia’s WPI up 1.4% in Nov ’24

Saudi Arabia’s wholesale price index (WPI) rose by 1.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in November 2024, driven by a 2.7 per cent increase in other transportable goods, including a 12.0 per cent rise in refined petroleum products and a 9.4 per cent jump in furniture and related goods.

Agriculture and fishery products saw a 3.3 per cent price increase, primarily due to a 5.5 per cent rise in agricultural products. Metal products, machinery, and equipment prices rose slightly by 0.2 per cent, while food products, beverages, tobacco, and textiles fell by 0.4 per cent, largely due to a 4.7 per cent decrease in meat, fish, and dairy prices.

On a monthly basis, the index climbed by 0.2 per cent in November 2024, driven by a 1.8 per cent increase in agriculture and fishery product prices. Other transportable goods saw a 0.3 per cent rise, while food products, beverages, tobacco, and textiles grew by 0.2 per cent. However, metal products, machinery, and equipment prices fell by 0.2 per cent, and prices for ores and minerals showed no significant change.
