South Korea and EU will hold the sixth round of negotiations for a Digital Trade Agreement (DTA) from October 15–17 in Seoul, Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) announced on Monday.
The goal is to establish high-level digital trade norms based on the Korea-EU Digital Trade Principles agreed upon in November 2022. This round follows five previous negotiating sessions since the launch of DTA negotiations in October 2023.
The focus of the upcoming round will be on advancing the negotiations based on the progress made so far. The DTA aims to boost bilateral trade in digital goods and services by upgrading digital trade rules and creating a more stable digital business environment for Korean businesses to expand globally.
