S. Korea’s export, import prices rise modestly in July
South Korea’s Export Price Index, measured in Korean won, rose slightly by 1.0 per cent in July compared with the previous month, although it declined noticeably by 4.3 per cent year-on-year, official data showed on Thursday.
The Import Price Index increased marginally by 0.9 per cent from June, while falling sharply 5.9 per cent compared with July 2024.
Trade volumes expanded significantly, with the Export Volume Index climbing strongly by 8.2 percent and the Import Volume Index rising steadily by 7.8 percent year-on-year.
The Export Value Index grew moderately by 4.3 per cent, and the Import Value Index increased slightly by 1.8 per cent over the same period.
