The Egyptian Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, Eng. Hatem Saleh, has announced that 1000 plots of land on an area of 5 million square meters with complete facilities in a number of industrial zones will be offered within few days. And also new zones will be available in order to establish industrial clusters by the industrial developer system, especially in intensive-labor sectors.
Saleh said the ministry is coordinating with the concerned authorities to resolve the problems of the factories’ heights, in order to allow establishing new factories and expand the existing investments. This came during the presentation provided by Eng. Hatem Saleh in seminar entitled “Investment and Hiring” at the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES), comprising the events of the national initiative for economic leap that the government is adopting to follow up with different representatives.
Both Ministers of Investment and Planning participated in the seminar, in addition to a large number of economists.
The minister has pointed out that there are urgent procedures are being taken to correct the Egyptian industry form, through preparing a bill of licenses and the industrial registry for the small and medium facilities as well as providing incentives for the small and medium entrepreneurs in Upper Egypt, Sinai and Canal region. This would be through modernizing the industry and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), besides amending the role of exports councils so as to allow the participation of small exporters in the exporting system.
