Sara Fakhry, Egyptian Geologist at Trident Petroleum Company, was invited by the U.S. State Department on the luncheon held in honor of U.S. Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.
Fakhry was selected among 100 pioneering women in the STEM fields from 21 countries in Asia and Africa to speak at the TechWomen event, highlighting her success story in her field.
TechWomen is an Initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
During the luncheon, Fakhry was given the opportunity to speak about her success story, and how she was named from the 100 pioneering women in the STEM fields in 21 countries across Asia and Africa to speak at the TechWomen event.
Fakhry is one of the very first Egyptian female geologists to work on site showing a performance equal to her male counterparts.
She started working in Trident Petroleum Egypt in 2015, having now around 8 years of experience in the field of Geology.
Fakhry graduated from Helwan University in Cairo with a bachelor’s degree in Geology and Earth Science in 2013.
She started her career by working as a teaching assistant at the Sciences & Engineering School at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
