The American business executive, Vince McMahon had sold World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), said an employee in global sports entertainment platform, DAZN on Tuesday.
According to combat sports insider Ariel Helwani, sources are saying WWE has not agreed to sell to Saudi Arabia or any other entity and the company is “still exploring all options.”
Previously, Saudi Arabia has signed 10 years contract with WWE, starting from 2018 to hold WWE events in the Kingdom. The deal is said to be worth $1 billion and $50 million for each event.
Noteworthy, that the World football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived in Riyadh on Monday night to join the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for WWE to be sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund or any entity, sources say.
The organization is still exploring all options, I’m told. Developing.
