Saudi Arabia officially joins BRICS group
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially begun its membership in the BRICS group, according to the Kingdom’s state-run news channel announced on Tuesday.
In August, Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud said that the Kingdom will study all details before the proposed January 1 joining date and will take the appropriate decision.
BRICS will include five new members (Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia). This expansion may align with the group’s goal to become a champion of the ‘Global South’ developing nations.
