Saudi Arabia warns citizens against involving in monetary transactions in Egypt
Saudi Arabia has warned its citizens against engaging in any form of monetary transaction in Egypt without referring to its embassy in Cairo. This comes after a Saudi woman and her daughter, a Kuwaiti national, were killed in Egypt while planning to buy an apartment.
In a statement dated Tuesday, October 13th, on Facebook, the Saudi embassy in Cairo urged “utmost caution among citizens regarding any monetary transactions with anybody inside Egypt,” advising citizens to seek counsel from the embassy in advance.
The warning came after the two victims were found dead inside a well in a desert area in the Upper Egyptian province of Minya.
Police investigators had found that the pair were seeking to buy a flat before both were kidnapped, murdered and thrown 20 meters underground, the newspaper said.
Kuwaiti newspaper Alray Alaam quoted Khamis al-Khamis, a Kuwaiti citizen, as saying on Twitter that his mother and daughter were killed in Egypt and that he was heading to Cairo to finish procedures for the transfer of their corpses back home.
