Saudi’s Mobily Adopts Ericsson’s EPC Solution

Saudi-based Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has signed a contract with Ericsson for the supply of an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solution that supports 2G, 3G and 4G communications, Saudi Gazette has reported. EPC is a flat, efficient, IP-based core network architecture, which supports the next generation of mobile broadband. The main driving forces behind EPC are the rapid adoption of mobile broadband, as well as the requirements of new multimedia services and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications, Mobily said.
