Shaky 4-day truce starts in Gaza
A four day truce started in Gaza on Friday morning, though there has been reports of violations from Israel and Hamas.
The truce is the first in the 48-day long aggression on Gaza.
It includes agreement of freeing 50 Israeli prisoners in return for 150-300 Palestinian prisoners (women and children) as well as letting aid in the besieged strip.
“People are exhausted and are losing hope in humanity,” UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said on Thursday.
“They need respite, they deserve to sleep without being anxious about whether they will make it through the night. This is the bare minimum anyone should be able to have.” he added.
The Israeli aggression on Gaza killed around 15,000 innocent civilians, 67% of which are women and children. It also left more than 31,000 civilians wounded.
