German industrial giant Siemens Aktiengesellschaft signed Monday a preliminary agreement to upgrade the Egyptian electrified railway signalling systems.
In the presence of Egyptian Transport Minister Hany Dahy, Siemens’ CEO in Egypt Maximilian Egger as well as transport expert Hany Azer, Siemens has signed the agreement with the Egyptian National Railways (ENR).
Siemens Aktiengesellschaft operates as an electronics and electrical engineering company worldwide.
The signed memorandum of understanding encompasses the upgrade of the signaling systems for a number of key railway lines in Egypt, notably Luxor-Aswan, Tanta-Mansoura-Damietta, and Bahariya Oasis routes.
