Singapore Exchange Ltd. SPXCF +3.27% on Friday denied it was in talks with London Stock Exchange Group PLC UK:LSE +1.00% for a potential merger, but added it was open to collaborations and partnerships that may benefit its shareholders.
The announcement followed a report in The Telegraph that the chief executives of the two bourses have held a series of talks in recent weeks about a potential combination. Shares of both exchanges rose despite broad weakness in London and Singapore, with LSE gaining 0.9%, while the SGX stock climbed 1.4%.
