Singapore’s non-oil domestic exports (NODX) decreased by 3.5 per cent compared to the previous year in May, following a 12.4 per cent increase in April, as reported by Enterprise Singapore on Tuesday.
Electronic NODX rose by 1.7 per cent in May, easing from a 23.4 per cent jump the previous month. The increase was led by strong gains in personal computers, integrated circuits, and consumer electronics.
In contrast, non-electronic NODX fell by 5.3 per cent, reversing from April’s 9.3 per cent expansion. Petrochemicals, non-monetary gold, and specialised machinery were the largest contributors to the decline.
