Sisi approves €75 mln EU grant to support local reform programme

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approved on Thursday a €75 million grant from the European Union to support the implementation of social and economic reforms at the local level.

The approval comes through Presidential Decree No. 730 of 2025, following Cabinet endorsement and subsequent parliamentary ratification in February 2026.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atty has ordered the decree to be published in the official gazette, completing the formalities for the programme’s launch.

The EU-funded programme is designed to assist Egypt’s local administrations in rolling out reforms to improve social and economic conditions nationwide.
