Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the acceleration of agricultural reclamation projects in the New Delta and North and Central Sinai to strengthen food security, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly confirmed on Thursday according to the Egyptian Cabinet.
This came during his meeting with ministers and officials, Madbouly reviewed progress on securing key resources for these projects, including water supply and electricity infrastructure. Discussions covered the use of treated agricultural wastewater, expansion of advanced treatment plants, and a shift to modern irrigation systems to minimise water loss.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of electricity supply projects and the construction of transformer stations to support the agricultural infrastructure in the targeted regions.
