Sisi discusses expanded energy cooperation with Apache

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Sunday with John J. Christmann, CEO of Apache Corporation, to discuss the US energy company’s ongoing operations and future investments in Egypt’s oil and gas sector.

Sisi praised Apache’s decades-long partnership with Egypt, describing it as one of the country’s most important energy partners and the largest American investor in the sector. He said the company’s work has strengthened Egyptian-American economic ties and encouraged further US investment in energy.

The meeting reviewed Apache’s production and expansion plans, highlighting its continued commitment to developing Egypt’s hydrocarbon resources. Christmann reaffirmed the company’s intention to boost output and deepen cooperation with Egyptian authorities as part of Apache’s broader growth strategy.

Sisi also discussed progress in Apache’s exploration activities in newly awarded Western Desert concession areas, reiterating Egypt’s readiness to provide full support for expanding joint operations and maximising energy potential.
