Sisi, Macron, Abdulla II hold joint call with Trump on Gaza ceasefire
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II held a joint phone call on Monday with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of their trilateral summit in Cairo on April 7.
The leaders discussed urgent steps to secure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, underlining the need for full humanitarian access and the immediate release of all hostages and detainees.
They stressed the importance of creating conditions for a genuine political horizon, mobilising international efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, restore security and peace for all, and implement the two-state solution. The leaders and President Trump agreed to remain in close contact.
The call also covered the need to accelerate efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, in line with international law and shared global security and stability goals.
