Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Wednesday for talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and regional developments.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of advancing cooperation in economic, trade, and investment fields, while expediting joint projects that meet the aspirations of the two peoples.
The discussions also addressed regional stability, with Prince Al Khalifa commending Egypt’s efforts, in coordination with Qatar and the United States, to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and alleviate humanitarian suffering.
The meeting reaffirmed rejection of any attempt to displace the Palestinian people from their land and stressed the urgency of rebuilding Gaza and reviving the political process towards establishing an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and international resolutions. Talks further covered ways to preserve regional stability, emphasising respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states facing unrest.
