Sisi urges review of WB, IMF credit terms to ease burden on citizens
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi urged the government on Sunday to review the terms of the credit facilities provided by the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), aiming to ease financial burden on citizens.
During the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Development (PHDC’24), he highlighted the successful implementation of a reform programme in 2016, made possible by stable political conditions both regionally and globally.
President al-Sisi further emphasised that the government is implementing a comprehensive economic reform programme, which is being adversely affected by the ongoing geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.
