Egyptian property developer Tatweer Misr has signed a preliminary agreement with Six Senses Hotels Resorts Group to establish a resort in Il Monte Galala in Ain Sokhna.
The leading luxury resort brand Six Senses has recently been named the World’s Best Hotel Group 2016 by Telegraph Travel.
The anticipated resort will be the first of its kind in Africa with investments nearing one billion Egyptian pounds ($112.6 million), Tatweer Misr’s managing director Ahmed Shalaby told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.
Il Monte Galala is Tatweer Misr’s flagship; a mixed-use mega development that spans over 2.2 million sqm of the Galala Mountain in Ain Sokhna, approximately 120 km (74.5 miles) east of Cairo. It is positioned to become a local and international destination of choice, offering unparalleled activities and lifestyle options based on their unique vision of building value that goes beyond the integration of Ain Sokhna’s unique natural beauty into the project’s urban design.
The Egyptian official further said the planned resort would include 100 suites and 60 hotel units and would be 120 metres above sea level.
The two companies are revising the final terms ahead of signing the final agreements, Shalaby added.
Six Senses is a luxury resort and spa management and development company established in 1995, which manages resorts under the brand names Soneva, Six Senses Hideaway, Six Senses Latitude and Evason, plus Six Senses Spas and Six Senses Destination Spas. Six Senses has over 20 resorts and 30 Six Senses Spas in operation or under development worldwide.
