Sri Lanka’s economy grows in Q3 ’24

The Sri Lankan economy expanded by 5.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2024, as per the most recent data released by the central bank.

The report showed that agriculture activities grew by 3 per cent, industry activities by 10.8 per cent, and service activities by 2.6 per cent.

The report indicated that tea production decreased in October 2024, while total production from January to October slightly increased.

Rubber production steadily improved, with a significant year-on-year increase in October, as reported by the central bank.
