Sri Lanka’s inflation rate dips to -0.7% in Oct.

Sri Lanka’s National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) recorded a year-on-year inflation rate of -0.7 per cent in October 2024, a decline from the -0.2 per cent rate observed in September 2024, the Department of Census and Statistics reported on Thursday.

Food group’s year-on-year inflation rose to 1.3 per cent in October 2024 from 0.5 per cent in September 2024, while non-food group inflation dropped to -2.3 per cent in October 2024 from -0.7 per cent in September 2024.
