Egypt’s vital waterway Suez Canal witnessed on Wednesday the crossing of 46 ships at weight of 3.112 million tons.
24 ships have passed through the Suez Canal coming from the North at weight of 1.556 million tons.
The biggest ship coming from the north was Japan’s LNG Grace Dahlia at weight of 159 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, the number of ships passing through the Suez Canal coming from the south hit 22 at weight of 1.556 million. The biggest ship coming from the south was Marshall Islands’ LNG Bu Samra at weight of 166 thousand tons.
The canal is one of Egypt’s main sources of foreign revenue. Revenues hit $438.1m in May after 1,431 vessels crossed the waterway carrying a combined cargo of 79.7m tons.
