Global prices of sugar and wheat have witnessed a significant increase during the current times in London Stock Exchange for food commodities, according to the report issued by the Chamber of Food Industries of the Federation of Industries report that was issued to monitor the international prices of strategic commodities.
The report pointed out the high price per ton of refined white sugar in February 24th 2012, which reached 661.4 $ compared to 600.7 dollars in the February 17th 2012, and this significant raise recorded a 61.3 $ change in price – 8.9% change- if compared to the same period last year.
The report added that the price per ton of wheat rose in February 24th 2012 to reach 235.35 $, compared with 230.02 in the February 17th 2012 recording a decline of 5.33 $ in price -17.8% change- if compared to the same period last year.
On the other side, rice prices have seen a decrease in February 24th 2012 for to 279.61 dollars against 282.37 dollars in February 17th 2012, recording a decrease of 3.25 $ in price – 9.1% change – if compared to the same period last year.
The price per ton of excellent oil of olive decreased in February 26th 2012 reaching 1759.65 Euros, compared with 1802.02 Euros in February 20th 2012 that shows a significant decline of 30 Euros, as well as the price per ton of ordinary oil of olive in February 26th 2012 to be 1554.42 Euros when compared to 1559.24 Euros in February 20th 2012 recording a slight decrease of 5.18 Euros.
