The Egyptian Company for Wholesale Trade is to finish the second phase of its factory for sugar packing at the middle of 2016, Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy announced Sunday.
Factory’s second phase is established with investment cost estimated at 40 million Egyptian pounds (US$4.9 million), Hanafy said.
The minister made these remarks during inaugurating factory’s first phase in the first industrial zone – 6th of October City.

Minister Hanafy stated that the capacity of the second phase is set to reach around 170,000 tonnes annually.
Factory’s first phase has been established on the space of 5,000 square meters with cost worth 50 million pounds. It is set to operate with capacity estimated at 150,000 tonnes annually.
The minister clarified that the new sugar factory encompass 18 production lines operated by the latest global systems by which the products will be available in local markets and for exporting.
The new factory is set to provide sugar and packed commodities for all branches of consumer complexes as well as private sector’s markets.
