Syria Warns UK Against Interference

The Syrian government has warned Britain and other western powers against any possible plans for military interference in the country saying “coming to Syria is not a picnic”.

The remarks were made by Syrian information minister Omran al-Zoubi in response to accusations made by the UK and US that the Syrian government might consider using chemical weapons.

Earlier this week, British Prime Minister David Cameron and US president Barack Obama accused the Syrian government of planning to deploy such weapons.

However, in an interview with Sky News, al-Zoubi denied the allegations that Syria has chemical weapons saying “We have never said we have them”.

“Coming to Syria is not a picnic. But Syria does not want a war with anyone”, al-Zoubi added as he warned western powers against any thought of military interference in Syria.

Such accusations made by the UK and US appear to be excuses for creating conditions of open military interference. Moreover, such a course of action would be a great risk against Obama due to the US presidential election taking place less than three months away.

While making such accusations, Britain has been playing an active role in fueling unrest in Syria with media reports telling of British intelligence forces like MI6 and Special Air Service (SAS) providing training and intelligence to armed insurgents operating in Syria.
