Tahrir’s Protests Defer Signing 3 Protocols in Canadian Chamber

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce In Egypt has postponed signing three cooperation protocols with Mining Renaissance Association (MRA), Mining Export Council, and Consumer Protection Agency (CPA). Postponing the protocols came due to the instability that Egypt is facing at the current time in the wake of the constitutional declaration announced by President Mohamed Morsi.

Dr Fayez Ezz El Din, Head of Canadian Chamber of Commerce In Egypt,  said the current incidents will greatly help in decreasing the volume of the foreign investments in Egypt, because the foreign investors are following these incidents. And the instability in the Egyptian street will lead to halting the investments.

He added that the chamber postponed signing the three protocols, which were planned to be signed before the end of November, but the incidents stopped them till restoring stability.

He referred to the necessity of overcoming the crises in Egypt in order to revive the Egyptian economy. Numerous investing opportunities in Egypt had been suspended till restoring stability, Fayez said; mentioning that the Canadian side is willing to head to the Egyptian market but in case of stability.
