Major tech companies are taking a stand against Donald Trump administration’s controversial stance on immigration, the Washington Post reported Sunday night.
The Post, citing sources, said Google, Facebook, Uber, Twitter, Netflix and others filed a legal brief opposing the administration’s entry ban that temporarily barred citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States and suspended the U.S. refugee program.
In the brief, the companies argue that immigration is important for economic growth and that the order would hinder the U.S.’s ability to attract talent, the Post said.
Over the weekend, a U.S. appeal court denied a request from the Department of Justice to restore the ban after it was blocked by a judge in the state of Washington.
