Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt signed strategic agreements on Wednesday to enhance cooperation, boost digital services, and expand Egypt’s telecommunications infrastructure.
The agreements include a three-year extension of the transmission services contract until 2032, increasing capacity from Telecom Egypt to Orange. A new fibre-to-the-site (FTTS) agreement will strengthen Orange Egypt’s mobile network and support its 5G readiness. Additionally, modifications to fixed internet agreements will enable Orange to offer improved packages at competitive prices.
Minister of Communications Amr Talaat highlighted ongoing collaboration with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and mobile operators to expand network coverage. By mid-2025, all villages under the Hayah Karima (Decent Life) Initiative and newly completed highways will have full mobile service coverage, backed by investments totaling 9 billion Egyptian pounds.
Minister Talaat praised the NTRA and both companies for their contributions to enhancing service quality and expressed optimism about further agreements supporting Egypt’s digital transformation.
