Tesla will cut prices for its Model 3 and Y electric vehicles in Japan by three percent and four percent, respectively, starting this month, the automaker said on Tuesday.
The reductions come two months after Tesla put a higher price tag on the Model 3 and Y in Japan.
The Model 3’s price reduction, which brought its price to $36,362, has made it more affordable in Japan than it was before when using subsidies with the purchase, said Tesla. Model Y’s price is now $39,148.
Tesla has kept the prices of its Model S and X, which are higher-priced EVs that the automaker started accepting orders for in Japan in May, unchanged.
