Tesla mulls building new EV in mid-2025

Tesla Inc. plans to start production of a new mass market electric vehicle (EV) called Redwood in mid-2025, Reuters reported on Wednesday citing four people familiar with the matter.

The production of Redwood model would begin in June 2025 with a weekly production volume of 10,000 vehicles, sources said. The company sent invitation for bids for the new model to suppliers last year.

Tesla also intends to make cheaper cars at its facility in Berlin, and it is interested in establishing a factory in India to produce less-priced electric vehicles, sources previously stated.
