Thailand’s exports increased 10.2 per cent year-on-year to $25.62 billion in April, marking the tenth consecutive month of growth, as per official data reported by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
The Ministry of Commerce attributed the growth to strong performance in industrial and agro-industrial shipments, with industrial exports climbing 16.6 per cent, driven by sales of computers, gems and jewellery, and integrated circuits.
Imports expanded 16.1 per cent to$28.94 billion in April, resulting in a trade deficit of $3.32 billion.
The ministry added that government and private sector bodies are working on trade negotiation strategies and relief measures to mitigate risks from potential US import tariffs in the second half of the year.
