Thailand’s inflation slows in August ’24
Thailand’s headline consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.35 per cent in August 2024 compared to the same period last year, down from a 0.83 per cent annual increase in July, the Commerce Ministry reported on Thursday.
The August figure came in below the 0.40 per cent rise predicted in a Reuters poll and fell short of the central bank’s target range of one per cent to three per cent.
The core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, increased by 0.62 per cent in August from the previous year.
